Disaster Preps: Week 2

Continuing with our series on simple weekly purchases to develop a disaster kit for your family, we go to the hardware section or store for a few items.

Weekly Purchase List:

• Crescent Wrench
• Heavy Rope
• Duct Tape
• 2 flashlights and batteries (keep batteries in packaging)
• Bungee cords (can find a package of assorted sizes)
• Leash or pet carrier if needed

Action Items:

• Check your house for hazards. Secure any objects that could be blown by wind and cause damage
• Locate your gas, water, and electricity shutoffs, add these locations to your written plan.  Contact your utility company for guidance.
