May 2013 Precipitation Review

Here is a composite chart showing rainfall for the month of May, 2013.  A total of 5.77 inches of rainfall, or 112% of normal, was recorded over 13 precipitation days in www.cocorahs.org rain gauge MS-SF-1, located on the north side of Indianola, Mississippi.  For May, there were five notable rain events.  The first was May 1-6, which yielded a total of 2.71" of rainfall.  The second was May 10-11 with .88 inches recorded.  On May 17-18, another 0.82" fell, as did 0.64" on May 22.   Our final rain event was May 30-31 with 0.72" recorded.

Year-to-Date MS-SF-1 has recorded 34.15 inches of precipitation, which is 63% of our annual normal.
