THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON HAS ISSUED A * FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF CENTRAL AND NORTHERN MISSISSIPPI. * THROUGH 6 AM CDT THURSDAY MORNING. * A FRONTAL BOUNDARY LYING ACROSS THE REGION WILL PROVIDE FOCUS FOR HEAVY RAINFALL THROUGH THE REST OF TODAY AND INTO TONIGHT. RAINFALL TOTALS OF 2 TO 5 INCHES HAVE ALREADY FALLEN ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE WATCH AREA...WITH AN ADDITIONAL 2 TO 3 INCHES OF RAINFALL POSSIBLE THROUGH TONIGHT. LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL TOTALS OF 5 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS AREAS THAT SEE MULTIPLE THUNDERSTORMS. * URBAN AREAS WILL BE ESPECIALLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO FLASH FLOODING FROM HEAVY RAINS.
