Hazardous Weather Outlook - April 14, 2011

The following is this morning's Hazardous Weather Outlook.  I will update this information after 2:30pm today, following a conference call with the weather service.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE JACKSON MS
408 AM CDT THU APR 14 2011

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR SOUTHEAST ARKANSAS...AND
PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST LOUISIANA AND NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE LATE TONIGHT WITH THE
MAIN RISKS...HAIL TO THE SIZE OF HALF DOLLARS AND DAMAGING WIND
GUSTS TO 65 MPH. A TORNADO CANNOT BE RULED OUT TOWARD DAYBREAK ON
FRIDAY. A DEVELOPING STORM SYSTEM IN THE SOUTHERN PLAINS TODAY WILL
HEAD EAST AS A WARM FRONT LIFTS NORTHWARD UP THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER
VALLEY. INCREASING MOISTURE AND INSTABILITY WILL COMBINE WITH THE
FRONT TO HELP SET OFF THE STORMS WHICH SHOULD OCCUR PRIMARILY AFTER
MIDNIGHT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL INCREASE IN COVERAGE FRIDAY MORNING AHEAD
OF A COLD FRONT AND CONTINUE INTO FRIDAY AFTERNOON. THESE STORMS WILL
BE CAPABLE OF DAMAGING WINDS OF 80 MPH...GOLFBALL SIZED HAIL AND A
FEW TORNADOES. MOST OF THESE STORMS SHOULD OCCUR BEFORE ABOUT 2 PM.
PLEASE MONITOR THE LATER OUTLOOKS AND FORECASTS CONCERNING THIS
POTENTIAL SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK.

.SPOTTER CALL TO ACTION STATEMENT...
THE ACTIVATION OF STORM SPOTTERS...HAM RADIO OPERATORS...AND
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PERSONNEL IN SUPPORT OF SEVERE WEATHER
OPERATIONS...MAY BE NEEDED LATE TONIGHT BUT MORE LIKELY ON FRIDAY
INTO EARLY FRIDAY AFTERNOON.
