Outlook for Thursday/Friday, April 14-15, 2011

There is a potential for a severe weather outbreak across the entire
forecast area Friday.  Severe thunderstorms will also be possible over
our far northwest areas Thursday night...generally from Bastrop, LA to
Grenada, MS northward.  An initial impulse will track across northwest
areas Thursday night ahead of a powerful low pressure system that will 
track across the ARKLAMISS region Friday.  There is a good chance of
severe thunderstorms over western areas early Friday morning with the
risk of severe storms developing across the remainder of the region 
before noon.  The severe potential will persist over eastern areas into
the late afternoon, possibly into the early evening.  All modes of severe
weather will be possible with this storm, with a potential for tornadoes
over much of the area.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI...
NORTHEAST LOUISIANA...AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST ARKANSAS.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT AND THURSDAY

THE PROBABILITY FOR WIDESPREAD HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS LOW.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY

A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE LATE THURSDAY NIGHT.
HAIL TO THE SIZE OF QUARTERS AND DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH WILL
BE THE PRIMARY RISKS...BUT TORNADOES CANNOT BE RULED OUT.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL INCREASE IN COVERAGE FRIDAY MORNING
AHEAD OF AN APPROACHING COLD FRONT AND CONTINUE UNTIL FRIDAY
AFTERNOON. THE STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF DAMAGING WINDS...HAIL
AND TORNADOES. PLEASE MONITOR THE LATEST OUTLOOKS AND FORECASTS
CONCERNING THIS POTENTIAL SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK.
